Figures

I unfailingly return to the body. Personification. It’s what I’m drawn to in every story or image. However, I am less interested in creating a beautiful portrait as I am in revealing their imperfections; their physical and psychological idiosyncrasies. Perfection is irrelevant; it lacks humanity. Highlighting exaggerating and celebrating the weight and gravity of flesh; the sinews beneath the skin; the blues, greens and purples in hollows and folds are deeply alluring and sensual. It all tells a story.
